NYC gardens and New York City: a misnomer? Well, it might

surprise you to learn that the same New York City that is known for its skyscrapers, Broadway shows, shopping and bridges, is actually home to three of the most well respected and beautiful NYC Gardens in the United States. Yes it true!

It would be difficult to tell you which of the botanical Gardens is the “best.” In my opinion, they are all superb. As a long time resident, I have visited these gardens, many, many times. As a result, I can offer you secrets on how to save money AND great tips on how to enjoy your visit.


THE NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN

WAVE HILL

Wave Hill, also located in the Bronx, provides truly stunning views of the Hudson River and New Jersey's dramatic cliffs, a 28-acre beautiful botanical gardens, a beautiful home that now houses an art gallery, cafe, and super gift shop, a vast array of excellent public programs, gardening workshops, and concerts for all ages. If you've never visited, well, you must. You'll never believe that you're in the Bronx! I must admit that this is one of my favorite places. THE BROOKLYN BOTANICAL GARDEN

The Brooklyn Botanical Garden, sprawls over 52 acres and showcases more than 10,000 species of plants. More than 900,000 annual visitors enjoy its large variety of specialty gardens including a spectacular Japanese garden!
