Manhattan Bed and Breakfasts:
Affordable Indulgence

Manhattan bed and breakfasts offer a warm, welcoming atmosphere with charming rooms that reflect NYC local character. You won't find your ‘standard’ hotel room at these inns. A 'B and B,' as they are often referred

to, serve as a lovely, relaxing respite from a long, hectic day of touring or shopping.

B & Bs are a great option for couples, especially those seeking a romantic escape, and are also ideal for singles or groups of friends. They are not a good choice for those with traveling with children.

MY TIPS:

  • Most Manhattan bed and breakfasts are owner-operated, so the owners usually live on the property and manage them as well. As a result, you’ll receive great service along with a very personal touch. Understand that Manhattan bed and breakfasts' owners rely on word of mouth and repeat guests to make their businesses prosper, so this serves as additional motivation to please guests. You'll find that most Manhattan bed and breakfasts' owners see their venture as a real labor of love--this is a plus for you!

  • Property owners serve as the ultimate concierge. They can direct you to great restaurants, recommend the latest shows, advise you about getting to your destination, and more. They want to please you. They want you to love New York City!

  • Each guest house is as unique as its owner. You’ll find that each has a distinctive personality and feel that is all its own.

  • Customers are treated as real guests. You’ll feel right at home and unusually relaxed—what could be better on a true vacation?

  • Complimentary breakfast usually consists of full gourmet fare including home-made granola, jams, fresh coffee, and the like. You’ll feel like your staying at a rich friend’s home who just happens to be a fantastic cook.

  • Each Manhattan Bed and Breakfasts property offers peace and quiet--another welcome touch after a busy day.

  • Many offer luxurious bed linens, bathrobes, and other fine amenities to enhance your visit.

  • Many offer afternoon tea, wine and cheese, or other gourmet treats. This creates the perfect setting in which to chat with new friends and exchange ideas about great NYC outings.

Needless to say, there is an unlimited supply of Manhattan bed and breakfasts from which to choose. I’ve selected a handful that you will like. In many instances, these accommodations are considerably cheaper than standard hotels. I have not listed the ultra expensive ones.
