CHEAP NEW YORK CITY PARKING GARAGES
New York City parking has a bad rap!! But, as you'll soon find out, that applies to those who are not in the "know." After
living in NYC for many years, we've found the secrets to parking cheaply, safely and efficiently. Yes, finding that coveted parking spot in New York City just got alot easier!
Check out my favorite site for selecting a cheap garage. Simply type in the area that you'll be visiting, approximately arrival and departure times, and Voila, you'll be presented with lots and lots of super choices including prices. Competition is your friend!
If you are going to a show in the theater district, or an event at Madison Square Garden, check out Icon Parking. You'll enjoy an entire evening of parking for just about $10! You'll need to show your ticket stub though. I've used the deal many, many times! Other kinds of options are also available, but these are my favs.
Park Fast has some really super deals. How about $10 from 5:30 until whenever on Monday-Thursday and Sunday; and $14 on Friday and Saturday!!! I'm hyperventilating!
Central Parking System has some great offers too! They offer package deals of $15 for any six hours, and $20 for any 12 hours. Their online coupons are required to receive the discount.
NEW YORK CITY PARKING ON THE STREET
You WILL find parking on the street if you have the, forgive the pun, drive! My husband thinks I'm an expert at it--I'm just a positive thinker!
It really isn't possible to park on the street long term (for many days) because of alternate side parking rules, but for an evening or afternoon, go for it.
For safety, I recommend parking on a main street, not a side street.
Understand that some areas have metered parking, so bring plenty of quarters. Select muni-meters accept credit cards. And at some locations you may pre-pay for parking using the NYC Parking Card. Purchase the card online and be prepared.
