Best one will win two FREE tickets (tickets can be used any day you wish) to the new show "Party Face," starring Academy Award winning "Haley Mills." Here's what they are saying about "Party Face:"
"You're invited to a party that’s full of surprises. Watch as careful plans are upended when a young woman's mother brings her own food to her daughter's party—and also the “right” person to be her daughter's new best friend. They put on their "party faces" and hope for the best, but when facades crack, secrets spill. Tears sprinkle and laughter roars as their revelry leads to revelations. PARTY FACE, featuring Academy Award-Winning Actress Hayley Mills (Pollyanna, The Parent Trap), written by Isobel Mahon (Glenroe, Fair City), and directed by Amanda Bearse (Married…With Children) is coming to City Center Stage II direct from Ireland where it continues to receive standing ovations in sold-out theatres. Come see this hilarious and bitingly honest play about the lengths we go to convince people we’ve got it all together—and the love and acceptance we find once we allow the truth to expose our imperfectly perfect selves. It's an invitation to celebrate life that you don't want to miss."

Seaport's Unique Nautical Interactive Art Show

If the Little Mermaid had gone to a nightclub under the sea, it would look like the Seaport District.

For the holiday season, the home of New York City’s nautical beginnings is featuring an interactive art show called Sea of Light located at 89 South St.

Created by “light artist” Alexander Green and Symmetry Labs (which also worked on what’s always the hottest art show of fall, 29Rooms), Sea of Light is a collection of glowing spheres that appear to be bubbling up from the Seaport’s cobblestone streets.

The spheres are up to nine feet tall and lit by over 150,000 LED bulbs that respond to touch and sound using thermal cameras and echolocation technology triggered by movement around them. There's also a choreographed light show that plays on the hour.

Sea of Light is free and open to the public through March 1, 2018. Additional activities during the holiday season include a curling rink and a design-focused holiday market curated by WantedDesign at 6 Fulton St.

The Seaport District is the city’s original shipping hub, where everything from immigrants to commerce moved for centuries. Recent redevelopment by the Howard Hughes Corporation has brought in the luxury dine-in theater iPic, a culinary series featuring some of the best chefs from the city and beyond, shops showcasing independent designers and regular live entertainment.

In Summer 2018, the revitalized Pier 17 will also add a 1.5-acre rooftop, a food hall curated by chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten and a new restaurant by David Chang.

The 85th Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Has Arrived!

The 75-foot-tall Norway spruce arrived by truck in midtown Manhattan early Saturday and was lifted into place by a giant crane to its seat of honor next to the iconic ice rink at Rockefeller Plaza.

It is the 86th to grace the Plaza for the annual weeks-long display and the third from Pennsylvania.

"It's amazing, we've seen it just on TV and pictures of it, so to see it stand up is kind of a surreal moment," Darren Dickey, of Vancouver, said.

Erika Pauze, the head gardener for Rockefeller Center, said Thursday that she saw this year's tree while driving nearly seven years ago and was quick to ask if the owner was interested in making his backyard evergreen the most famous Christmas tree in the world.

"It's hard to find a tree that's nice and full that doesn't have any storm damage or is growing crooked or anything," she said.

After being adorned with more than 50,000 multi-colored lights and crowned with the iconic Swarovski star, the tree will be illuminated for the first time during a live television broadcast on Wednesday, November 29.

It'll be on display until Jan. 7, 2018.

FREE Poe is the Raven Exhibition

Ray Felix presents a dark, yet whimsical tale based on the life of Edgar Allen Poe while residing in the Bronx. Based on both fact and fiction, "Poe is the Raven" gives new light and insight on the secret life of Edgar Allan Poe.

Inspired by his visits to Poe Cottage, Ray Felix became intrigued by spiritual ether surrounding the Poe property and the stories told by the long time tour guide of the Poe cottage. Felix's imprint "Bronx Heroes," takes stories from American History and transforms them into super heroes. Felix believes this allows Bronxites to appreciate everyday heroes from Bronx history and gain a greater understanding of their borough’s historically rich past.

This is a great place to visit. To be truthful, I had very little interest in Poe, but my son wanted to go, so off we went. It was such an interesting tour that it really ignited an interest in Poe altogether. The man who gave the tour was excellent. I highly recommend a visit.

Tours are given Tuesday, October 3, 2017, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. and repeatsrepeats every week on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday between 10/3/2017 and 11/25/2017. Call (718) 365-5516 for more information.
